Community, friends, skating, and good vibes. What more can you ask for? We’re still buzzing from this year’s Spirit of Beacon Day and couldn’t be more grateful to have Connect Skateboarding as a sponsor for this amazing event.
What is Spirit of Beacon Day?
For anyone who might not know, Spirit of Beacon Day is a tradition that’s been bringing our city together since 1977. Held every year on the last Sunday of September, it’s a city-wide celebration for the entire Beacon, New York community. The event is organized and run by a dedicated committee of volunteers, with amazing support from local citizens, businesses, and the City of Beacon itself.
The founding mission from 1977 says it all: it’s “a day to bring the City together, especially the children and youth....the community should get to know one another better, learn to know what each other likes in conversation, feelings, entertainment, education and food.” This event truly captures that spirit, turning our streets into a hub of connection and fun.
Live Skating, Giveaways, and Good Times
We wanted to really bring something fun to the day, so of course we set up some live skating. The session was wild—everyone was throwing down tricks, and the community was stoked from start to finish. It was amazing seeing people—whether you skate or just like to watch—hang out and enjoy. Check out our video recap of some of the action here.

We got a visit from the legend Ron English. He dropped by to hang out and watch some of the crew skate.
Of course, we couldn't have an event without giving back to the community that supports us. We gave away tons of free stuff throughout the day.

We also ran a raffle to help raise money for phase 2 of the Beacon skatepark—huge thanks to everyone who got involved. Prizes included a complete skateboard provided by Connect Skateboarding, a $50 gift card from our friends at Big Mouth Coffee Roasters, and a custom hand-painted skateboard by our dude @skatchface.
A Huge Thank You to Our Community
An event like this doesn't happen on its own. We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who made the day possible.
First, to our incredible team and all the volunteers who helped us get set up and kept things running smoothly—we couldn’t have done it without you. A massive thank you to the City of Beacon for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful tradition. And finally, a huge thank you to all the amazing community members who organized this beautiful day and to everyone who came out to share it with us.
Spirit of Beacon Day was a powerful reminder of what matters most: community, friendship, and sharing the things we love. We'll see you next year!
