Connect Skateboarding Gives Out 100 Free Skateboards, 100 Free Helmets at The Great Skate Giveaway 2026!

This year's Go Skateboarding Day was one we'll never forget.

Thanks to an incredible partnership with Keaton's Kids and Keep It Moving, We were able to put 100 complete skateboards and 100 helmets into the hands of kids throughout the Newburgh community. The Great Skate Giveaway was easily one of the most rewarding events we've ever been a part of.

We believe every kid deserves the opportunity to experience skateboarding. For many families, getting started can be expensive. This event was all about removing those barriers and creating an opportunity for kids to discover a lifelong passion for skateboarding.

We're incredibly grateful to 5Boro NYC for providing the skateboards and Triple Eight for supplying the helmets. These are brands we trust, ride, and recommend every day, so it meant a lot to put quality equipment into the hands of these next generation of skateboarders.

Once everyone picked up their new gear, it was time to skate.

Our team of Connect Skateboarding instructors spread out across the park, helping first-time skaters learn the basics. From stepping on a skateboard for the very first time to rolling across the pavement with confidence, it was amazing to watch so many kids experience skateboarding in a positive, encouraging environment.

The day was about much more than skateboarding. With a live DJ, face painting, great energy, and families filling the park, the entire event felt like a true community celebration. Everywhere you looked there were smiles, high fives, and kids excited to show off their new boards.

We also want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible Connect Skateboarding crew. Assembling 100 complete skateboards is no small task, and our team spent countless hours making sure every setup was ready before the event. We couldn't have done it without them.
